Outstanding in the Field (OINF) is a traveling farm-to-table dining experience founded by artist and former chef Jim Denevan in 1999. Often described as a ‘restaurant without walls,’ it brings guests directly to farms, vineyards, orchards, and other landscapes connected to the food being served. Long communal tables are set outdoors, creating an immersive experience centered around local ingredients, storytelling, community, and a strong sense of place. The concept helped shape the modern experiential dining movement by blending refined cuisine, agriculture, art, and hospitality into one shared experience.

I was commissioned by OINF to help capture their first dining experience at the National Arboretum in Washington DC.

The brand helped popularize the modern communal outdoor dining aesthetic that later became influential in luxury weddings and experiential events.
